Workshops for Work and Schools

 

Coaching is not just a one to one process that can only be applied to an individual, it can be a transformational process that inspires continued growth for everyone at your place of work or study. As a trained coach and mindfulness teacher, I offer transformational workshops for businesses and schools, combining mindfulness techniques, strategies to combat stress and skills for developing a more positive mindset, deepening communication and developing rapport.

As well as being a coach and therapist, I am a qualified meditation leader and mindfulness teacher with many years experience of exploring meditation and studying with various Buddhist teachers and centres. As an experienced secondary teacher for over 9 years, I have also worked in schools and colleges in London and the South East. Working in these fast paced and often challenging environments, I became acutely aware of the rise in stress and anxiety among students and staff, and the pressing need for effective strategies to deal with these in the workplace and schools. These programs are designed to help you and your workforce develop a more harmonious workplace where staff and students can learn coping strategies for managing stress, develop communication skills, thrive and reach their highest potential.

 

Wellbeing in the Workplace

Recent research has found that stress is the number one reason for staff absence from work, losing companies millions of pounds each year. With mental health issues on the rise in the UK, staff wellbeing is becoming a major focus of many organisations, and with mindfulness and meditation being one of the most effective ways combat stress and improve mental health, even doctors are suggesting their patients take it up. Studies into neuroscience and mindfulness have shown to have hugely positive results in lowering stress levels including combating anxiety, depression, lowering cortisol levels in the body, lowering the heart rate, supporting higher brain function and productivity levels, and generally helping promote a happier, calmer and more positive outlook on life. Wellbeing for Schools

With mental health issues on the rise, particularly among young people, with around 1 in 4 young people suffering with an anxiety related disorder in a 2016 study, schools are also recognising the importance of these skills for their students. According to the mental health support charity, No Panic, 50% of mental health disorders are established by the age of 14, and 10% of young people aged 5-16 have a diagnosable mental health disorder. At the same time, 70% of these young people do not get access to proper intervention at the appropriate time. Mindfulness has been shown to have dramatic affects in reducing the symptoms of anxiety and depression among young people. I offer group coaching and mindfulness skills development for young people and school staff in schools around the UK.
