Cognitive Hypnotherapy is a combined, solution focused approach to therapy which integrates the most effective elements of a range of approaches including NLP, Gestalt, Evolutionary Psychology, CBT and Positive Psychology, along with modern and traditional Hypnotherapy and forward thinking techniques such as EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) and EMI (Eye Movement Integration, based on EMDR). This gives us a powerful framework with which to personalise your treatment in the best way for you, so that we can work together to help you create a more positive model of the world and your place in it, transforming limiting beliefs, behaviours, memories and experiences. It is different from traditional hypnotherapy in that it is a two way process where you’ll be fully engaged, using your memories and imagination, with guidance and support, to help you reframe and transform negative beliefs about yourself, others and the world. You will be guided into a light trance state (similar to daydreaming or times when you are lost in thought), where we then work on getting the subconscious to access memories and experiences related to your problem, and use techniques to change the way your mind and body reacts to these. This causes the subconscious to create new response and react differently to the problem or type of situation, creating new neural pathways in the brain and literally rewiring the way your brain works.
