Hypnotherapy in East London

Here you’ll find some answers to some questions you might have. If you have any further queries that are not addressed here please feel free to contact me and I’ll be happy to help!

How long does it take to see results?

This varies from person to person but on average people generally take about 3-6 sessions to see the full benefits, although some people feel they have achieved the desired results after the first 1-2 sessions and some may need longer. Either way, I will be there to support you however long it takes and we will stay in contact and work out a plan that suits your needs and pace.

What’s the difference between Cognitive Hypnotherapy and traditional Hypnotherapy?

Cognitive hypnotherapy is different from traditional hypnosis in that it is not based around me putting you into a trance and just talking at you from a script. Most of the time you will be participating in a two way process, where I will be guiding you to use visualisation techniques or memories, to access your unconscious mind. There will be some times when I am talking to your unconscious directly, but even this is tailored specifically to you, using language patterns and suggestions that fit with your way of seeing the world. This gives us a truly personalised approach to your treatment, which is a completely unique characteristic to our field.

Will I know what is happening and what I’m saying while in trance?

Yes. Your unconscious knows what is good and right for you, and so you will never do or say anything that you don’t feel comfortable with, and I will never ask you to either. You are completely in control at all times and I will be there to guide you if anything ever gets too much for you, so you can rest assured that you will be in safe hands.

Can I really change if I’ve had this problem for so long?

Yes you absolutely can! It is completely possible to let go of and transform patterns of thinking, behaviour, limiting beliefs, phobias, addictions, you name it… even if they are lifelong experiences. Quest Cognitive Hypnotherapy is one of the only approaches to have taken part in an independent research project, which tested results against people using NHS therapy services, and found that an overwhelming 71% of our clients reported themselves recovered (yes RECOVERED!) after a series of 6 sessions, compared to 41% of those using the NHS services. So if they can do it, then you can too!

How much will it cost me?

I offer a range of options for single sessions and packages so you can select the best option for you. Each session lasts either 1.5 or 2 hours, and cost either £155-175. This price covers the time spent in sessions, treatment planning, communications and support between sessions, and your own personalised hypnosis recordings. This may seem expensive compared to some traditional hypnotherapist’s rates, but you will find that most of these use generic scripts that have a “one size fits all” approach. Cognitive Hypnotherapy sets itself apart from other types of therapy with it’s highly personalised and integrative style. This means there is a lot more planning and preparation to take into account, but it also means that it can be much more effective over time, costing you less in the long run. You will also receive much more support from me than most other therapists offer, and I will teach you techniques you can take away with you rather than just cut your open (so to speak) and talk at you, so there’s a great deal more that goes into this type of treatment.

Do you offer discounts for people on low incomes?

I offer payment plans and a sliding scale for people on low incomes, and heavily subsidised places for one-two people every 8 weeks, for people living on benefits. I believe that everyone should have access to good therapy, and that no one should be left feeling like they can’t get the help they need because they can’t afford it. Please contact me to discuss these options further and see how I can help you.

Where are you based and do you offer online sessions?

I operate from my comfortable practice in Hackney Downs, with access to a wonderful cafe and a range of other great facilities. I also offer sessions online if you prefer to work from the comfort of your own home or workplace, or if you have mobility restrictions. Please see the Booking Options page for more details and feel free to contact me if you would like to discuss any of these details in more depth.
